Cornell Small Farms has been working to develop extension resources and tools to support both rural and urban growers get into specialty mushroom farming. This workshop will introduce participants to outdoor log-grown shiitake and indoor oyster mushrooms production systems with hands-on demonstrations and review economic models for each production system. Group discussion will explore how practitioners and educations see their audience adopting mushroom production in their own local contexts.
